some of u bitches r trying your hardest to stay positive and hopeful despite all the bullshit you’ve been going thru and it really shows and i’m proud of u
and instead of admiring them the ghosts of my protestant ancestors possess me and I think shit like ‘well that’s just a little too much’
my ancestor Pain Wilhelmina Smith wacks a stick around my brain like ‘you like that Catholic shit? you gonna pay indulgences for that, huh? punk? get yee to a single room log cabin and PRAY’
anyway, my room is absolutely bare and buying a piece of clothing for over 20 dollars pains me
actually, I’m sorry to admit this, but I actually mis-remembered the name of the ancestor I was thinking of
her name was Fear
if you’re wondering, my puritan forebears actually had 5 children
please note Wrestling, Fear, and Love Brewster. And Jonathon.
Like. The quote “I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend” is such an integral quote/concept to LOTR that I just cannot for the life of me comprehend how people come away from LOTR inspired to write the grimdark i-love-war-and-suffering stories that populate fantasy
literally JRR TOLD us that if more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. But did we listen? No of course not! More angsting about redeeming our rightful throne by slaughtering hundreds!!!
One of my good friends just came out to her boyfriend about being ace. She was so worried about it, and she’s used to having to explain what asexuality even is, even before she can worry about getting acceptance for it.
So she asked him if he knew what that meant, and he was like, “Oh, yeah! One of my favorite characters on TV is ace! (Todd, from BoJack Horseman) I get that,” and it just made her entire coming out to him so much easier and more accepting and she’s so much happier now.
